No. 11 is coming back for the Arizona Cardinals.

New Arizona coach Steve Wilks says wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald – arguably the most popular and certainly the most prolific player to don a Cardinals uniform – has told him he’ll return for a 15th NFL season.

Wilks made the comment Thursday in an interview on the ”Doug & Wolf” sports talk radio show. Wilks says Fitzgerald told him of his decision in a conversation Wednesday night.

So for at least one more season Darius Slayton Jersey , Fitzgerald will be scooping in the throws – from somebody – and laying down some blocks for David Johnson.

There was a quick response from teammate and golfing partner, cornerback Patrick Peterson.

”Wouldn’t be the same without him,” Peterson said on twitter, with a photo of Fitzgerald hugging him.

Added safety Tyrann Mathieu, also on twitter, ”11 for 15. Welcome back Legend.”

Fitzgerald hadn’t said publicly whether he would remain for another season and there was speculation he might follow the lead of coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer, who both retired after last season.

The 34-year-old Fitzgerald is one of the most prolific receivers in the game’s history, ranking third on the NFL career lists for receptions and yards receiving. He finished second in the NFL with 109 catches last season.

He returns even though there is no quarterback on the Arizona roster. General manager Steve Keim has said the team will move aggressively to fill that void T.J. Hockenson Jersey , through free agency, trade or the draft – or any combination thereof.

Fitzgerald has caught passes from 17 quarterbacks since being drafted No. 3 overall by Arizona in 2004.

Although Jerry Rice’s NFL career records are out of reach, Fitzgerald has a good shot at moving up to No. 2. He needs 92 catches to top for second in career receptions and 390 yards receiving to pass Terrell Owens for No. 2 in that category.

Fitzgerald has one year and $11 million remaining on his contract and most indications were he was leaning toward giving it at least one more season.

New offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said Fitzgerald was the first player he reached out to and that the receiver said he was excited about the prospects of the coming season.

Fitzgerald has missed only six games in his career and has caught a pass in 211 consecutive contests, tied with Tony Gonzalez for second all-time. He has topped 100 catches and 1,000 yards receiving each of the alst three years and, last season, was selected to the Pro Bowl for the 11th time. Among wide receivers, only Rice has been selected more often.

He shared Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year honors with Eli Manning a year ago.

TAMPA http://www.lionscheapstore.com/jahlani- … rsey-cheap , Fla. (AP)Jameis Winston insists his injured throwing shoulder isn’t the problem – that he simply has to play better. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost for the fourth straight time Sunday, failing to score a touchdown in a game for the first time since their young quarterback entered the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft. Coach Dirk Koetter thought tricky winds might have affected Winston’s accuracy during a 17-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers, however the 23-year-old refused to use that as an alibi. ”We are NFL quarterbacks,” Winston said. ”We’ve got to be able to throw in the wind.” Playing with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder for the second week in a row, Winston completed 21 of 38 passes for 210 yards. He missed receivers badly at times, was intercepted twice, lost a fumble, and was sacked three times by a Carolina defense that hasn’t allowed a TD in its last two games. Receiver Mike Evans said the Panthers ”played well Will Harris Jersey , but not well enough for us to have three points.” What isn’t debatable is the bottom line. A season that began with heightened expectations after Tampa Bay (2-5) won nine games a year ago is gradually slipping away. The Bucs haven’t made the playoffs since 2007 and don’t have a postseason win since winning the Super Bowl 15 years ago. Fans in an announced crowd of 58,545 that looked considerably smaller booed after Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly intercepted Winston in the fourth quarter. Koetter shrugged off questions about whether Winston suffered a setback with his injury the previous week during a 30-27 loss at Buffalo. The quarterback threw for 384 yards, three TDs and one interception against the Bills, also took a hard hit on a sack/fumble. Julius Peppers had one of Carolina’s three sacks, forcing a second quarter fumble. ”They have a great defense, but you turn the ball over three times, you’re not going to win. You score three points, you’re not going to win http://www.lionscheapstore.com/austin-b … rsey-cheap ,” Winston said. ”We stuck ourselves in the foot. A couple of penalties called back some explosive plays,” he added. ”But at the end of the day, we have to execute. We have to execute, finish, continue to fight and bounce back next week.” Koetter said he told the team after the game he felt their effort was good. ”I thought it was good enough to not point fingers, and if they need to point fingers, point them at me,” Koetter said http://www.packerscheapstore.com/rashan … rsey-cheap , adding he’s ”disappointed” but not necessarily ”stunned” to be off to such a slow start. ”I’m disappointed that we are where we are,” he added. ”That starts with me.” Right tackle Demar Dotson said there’s time to save the season, but only if the Bucs begin now. ”You have to look at the reality of it. We’re a 2-5 football team, and the division is getting away from us. If we don’t do it ASAP it will be too late,” Dotson said ”We’re in a deep hole, but we still see some light,” he added. ”But we can’t afford to lose another game or else we’re going to be done.” —
