Each player’s age is in parenthesis is along with the highest level they played in 2018.Two-WayJared Wash (AAA, 25)We already talked about Walsh yesterday in regards to his pitching. One of the things to watch with Walsh this spring is how much time will he be devoting to pitching vs. hitting/fielder? We don’t really know that answer. We do know Walsh plays first base and CAN play the outfield as well, though not sure where the Angels will have him working. Walsh is a solid hitter with good plate discipline and a career .359 OBP in the minors. Infielders*Jahami Jones (21, AA)Jones had a rough 2018 after converting to second base but exploded in the Arizona Fall League. He’s an intriguing one to watch with a bit of speed and a small amount of power. We may see a lot of him at second base this spring - especially early on.*Matt Thaiss (23, AAA)Thaiss is knocking on the big league door and is back at Spring Training for a third year. Over 43 Spring ABs, he has a .279 AVG with a .340 OBP.Last year in Salt Lake he had a solid year but not outstanding. How he performs in Spring and back in Salt Lake will tell us when he’s ready for Anaheim. Would be nice to see more power and a higher than .277 AVG given that he plays in the PCL.Wilfredo Tovar (27 Matt Andriese Jersey , MLB)Signed to a minor league deal purely as a depth move, Tovar is a middle infielder that may not see any time with the big league club this year. He’s had 18 MLB at bats but not since 2014. He did really shine in AAA last season with only 42 Ks and a .342 OBP over 108 games.Outfielders*Jo Adell (19, AA)The moment we’ve all been waiting for - a closer look at the Angels top prospect and closest thing we’ve had to Mike Trout in 10 years. Adell’s performance dropped quite a bit when he moved up to AA last year but he did show a bit of an upswing int he second half. Of course, there is real possibility we can see him in Anaheim at least before the year is over.Peter Bourjos (31, MLB)He’s back! Most Angels fans remember this dude who was patrolling center field with Michael Nelson Trout made his big league debut. He’ll certainly be competing for a spot on the 25-man roster as the 4th outfielder along with youngster Michael Hermosillo.*Brennon Lund (24, AA)Lund was an 11th round pick from 2016 who wasn’t even on the top prospect radar until last season. Wherever he went - he performed, so he made people notice him. He still doesn’t really profile as a regular starter C. J. Cron Jersey , but Lund will get a chance to show his stuff in Tempe. *Brandon Marsh (21, A+)I finally had the chance to watch Marsh a few times last season. He’s dynamic but still raw. Can mash, but still has some holes in his swing when he come to fastballs. It will be nice to see how he does this spring against a higher level of pitching.Jarrett Parker (30, MLB)Parker is one of those guys Billy Eppler snuck on to the minor league roster. Form 2015-2017 he played in 135 games for the Giants with 15 HRs and a .335 OBP. He’s more of a corner outfielder type but could sneak on to the roster with a great spring.Cesar Puello (27, MLB)The Angels had Puello back in 2017 before they lost him off waivers to the Rays. They picked him back up recently as a minor league free agent. Eppler must see something in him. Maybe it’s his career minor league slash line of .290/.270/.429 with 68 HRs and 129 SBs.
