One of the major modifications to FIFA 23 is through the brand new Accelerate feature FUT 23 Coins. Many of the slow behaviour that people are complaining about are due to ratings and a lack understanding of this feature. For reference, here's a screenshot from a previous EA blog that outlines the three different archetypes for players:
These archetypes of players are entirely rating-driven, so it's important to understand who your team members are and the way they respond and move when incorporating these factors into the equation. For reference, here's a great Twitter thread on how it all works and the impact it has on players:
I'm an avid fan of these three enhancements. Regarding the subject of the balance of play, Accelerate provides those long striders such as Halaand a effective way to counteract the meta of quick and agile. My only complaint is on the general point of HyperMotion 2.
It's the impact it has on team defense. This year, Volta Football and Pro Clubs are now one nice section, and coincidentally both suffer from similar problems. The reality is that the real enemy is the other players and nowhere is this more apparent than in Pro Clubs, where drop-in games are full of players on the wings who are able to overwhelm the AI with outrageous calls to move the ball.
It's enjoyable to transform your"creative-pro" into a Shrek-adjacent goal-scorer cheap FIFA 23 Coins, sporting a closet full of ridiculous hats but when you're dependent on your score in the game it's a reason to be rewarded for unproductive skill-based moves that even Saint Maximin wouldn't bother with.
